Protect refugees from Mali

Project Details

Violent conflicts between government troops and Tuareg rebels in Mali have forced around 100.000 people to flee over the borders to Niger, Burkina Faso and Mauritania. Another 100.000 are on the run within the borders of Mali. Drinking water is scarce, many refugees suffer from Malaria, diarrhea and severe colds. In this forbidding region they are prone to all kinds of infectious diseases. Also after years of extreme droughts another impending famine is threatening the Sahel-region.

With your help the UNHCR will bring refugees from the dangerous border regions to the inland and provide them with the most indispensable things. Relief supplies are being airlifted into the three countries of arrival. With this project you will support a pressing humanitarian help in this region.
