How is the money for social projects generated?

Transparency is a priority for us. Therefore it’s extremely important to us that you know what happens to your money.

When you order pictures from us, Photocircle forfeits 6% of the purchasing price and in this way supports a non-profit organisation of your choice. We want to emphasise that we subtract this 6% from our margin rather than adding it to the price our customers pay. You don’t pay more, we take less! Our goal is not profit maximisation. We want to create a platform in which the motif is involved in the success of the pictures, in order to make the world a better and more just place. Furthermore, we want to ensure that the motif is recognised as an integral part of fine art photography.

When you buy a picture from one of our photographers, the level of project support depends partly on the size and medium in which you order the picture. The other deciding factor is the price that the photographer sets for his picture. Our photographers decide on price and how high the contribution towards project support and their own profit should be. At the moment the minimum donation is 30% of the prize the photographer sets for his picture. This means our photographers don’t just take great pictures, they also help the world with their work.

Photocircle also guarantees that 100% of the denoted project support reaches the organisation in question. All related costs (e.g. transaction and administrative costs) are paid for by us.

The goal of Photocircle is to create a win-win situation for all parties involved. We want to create a platform on which photographers, without any cost, can offer their photos for sale in their own galleries, so that they can increase their turnover and support social projects in regions that they have travelled to and learned to love. Our customers get great products from us and also make a positive contribution without having to invest extra time or money.
